Stop Going to Data & Analytics Conferences

Conferences are great for learning about the latest technologies, trends, Digital Transformation, Data Solutions, IoT, Analytics, MA, AI and what have you. Where else can you go and learn about the latest tech, meet relevant new vendors and future unicorns, hear industry experts talk about the next “big thing” and meet like-minded professionals? These are mostly sermons for their own parish, speaking to folks that are already convinced! It’s just too bad that your target audience, business buyers don’t attend these conferences.

What you want to do is go to the main conferences that your customers attend. The more sophisticated the solution is, the more industry specific it tends to be. Do you have an RPA solution for insurance claim processing? Attend the DKM show in Dortmund, a leading International Trade Fair for the financial and insurance sector! Have a solution for asset management and predictive maintenance for offshore platforms? Attend the SPE offshore show in Aberdeen! You won’t find many IoT experts or vendors at these conferences, but you will find many customers that need your solution.

At these shows, don’t talk about yourself, your company or the technology involved, come prepared with customer evidence of value you have delivered to similar customers in the relevant industry and you will have an eager audience and much richer fishing grounds!
